Keep in Touch

Like all of our RU Living residents, you can stay connected to all things off-campus through your resident-portal, Active Building. Here, you can access your personal account, to view balances, rent and personal messages. You can even find updates RU Living availability, submit maintenance requests, RSVP to community events and more. This system allows for easy communication between all residents and office staff should you have any questions or concerns.

Stuff breaks, we're here for you.

Our maintenance team is available for any maintenance request. To submit a regular maintenance request, you can visit your resident portal. Regular maintenance requests include, but are not limited to:

  • clogged toilet,
  • leaky sink,
  • faulty outlet, etc.

For emergency maintenance needs you can call the main office at (732) 227-4070, and follow the prompt to be connected to one of our community assistants. Emergency maintenance needs include, but are not limited to:

  • flooding,
  • electrical shortage,
  • building-wide power outages, unassociated with city-wide power outage, etc.

Not an RA, but here when you need them...

RU Living’s Community Assistants (CA) are RU Living residents and Rutgers students just like you. They’re here to help you 24/7 with lockouts, maintenance requests and more. CAs are your one-on-one connection with RU Living. Aside from handling your emergency requests and lockouts, CAs are also responsible for bringing resident and student perspective to our events! They plan BBQs, bar nights, de-stressors and more. If you have any suggestions, requests or concerns, you can email our CAs or stop by our office during business hours.

For any after-hours emergencies, please call the main office at (732) 227-4070 and follow the voice prompt to be connected with the CA on duty.

Have a car?

As all Rutgers students know, parking in New Brunswick can be quite challenging. Luckily, all RU Living residents are given ample parking opportunity. Residents of 12 Bartlett Street are able to purchase a parking hangtag that ensures them a spot in the underground garage. The garage is located directly underneath the apartment building and is accessible by the street and two separate elevator entrances. For the residents at our homes: Each unit is given street parking passes, including a visitor parking pass, by the New Brunswick Parking Authority. With these passes, residents may park within their assigned ward, up to two blocks away from their RU Living home.

Trash Talk

Did you know putting out the garbage on the wrong day or at the wrong time will result in a city fine and a court mandated appearance? Lucky for you, RU Living provides private sanitation services for all residents. You no longer have to worry about taking your trash and recycling to the curb. Just toss your garbage in the provided garbage cans and we’ll handle the rest! For residents of our premium houses: your trash will be collected from the backyard every week. We’ll even come back the next day to bring the cans back. No need to remember garbage day, recycling day, holiday schedules or whose turn it is to take out the trash. RU Living’s got you covered.

Whether New Brunswick gets hit with light flurries or a harsh storm, we’ve got you covered. Our team is up to date on all things Rutgers and will be sure to have your walkways and driveways cleared promptly should you still have class. Have a snow day? We’ll still come out and clear the way.
